A bit from Brad Evans after the game, on taking himself out with a hamstring issue, and converting his penalty kick:
On the hamstring: I felt it a little bit on that ball that Burch played through in the second half. I played the next five minutes on it, and I figured there’s 20 minutes left in the game: Better safe than sorry.
On the PK, which put Seattle up 2-0: It’s just confidence and stepping up and pick your spot and take it. If the keeper saves it, it should be a good save if he saves it. Sometimes you have to mix it up. I don’t know: a little bit of confidence there in stepping in. It’s a chance to go 2-0 up and create a gap for us going into halftime.
Here's what coach Sigi Schmid had to say about the Evans injury:
Never miss a local story.
"He should be all right. He felt his hamstring a little bit, so he wanted to get off the field before he would make it worse. I thought today early in the game he made a lot of big runs for us getting into the box and was dangerous for us in that way and that might have been a little too much today."
