The Sounders are off the training pitch for another day.
"I thought the enthusiasm and the energy was very good," coach Sigi Schmid said after the cold, wet session at Starfire Sports Complex in Tukwila.
The main news today was a series of health updates:
"Obviously Brad (Evans) went through training today, and Eddie (Johnson) went through training today without any issues. (Adam) Johansson, we were still holding off still another day: We wanted him to do a little bit and then old off. We’ll see how he is tomorrow. That will draw our conclusions there. Because we have a few guys (with injuries) we’ll maybe travel with 20. It gives them a couple of extra days because we travel on Thursday, and then we’ll see who’s ready.
Never miss a local story.
On Steve Zakuani's recovery after Sunday scrimmage) Good. I was very happy with it. He had a couple of good looks; should have probably had a goal on the one. It’s just a day-by-day, step-by-step process. We’re not setting timetables.
On Jhnon Kennedy Hurtado) Good. He felt no repercussions today. We just wanted to go easy today and have him do some stuff today and then see how he feels tomorrow.
On Mauro Rosales) He’s getting better each day. Today, with the weather, (the trainers) took him in earlier. We’ll see. I don’t think it will be this weekend, but hopefully the next.
