We spoke to him about all that today after training.
On being back in the lineup: It’s good. We haven’t gotten the result, so that’s the main thing. As I said before, if the team’s winning, I’d rather that than be playing. But I’d rather get the wins and start getting the results; that’s more important that actually playing. It’s good to be out there and be part of the first group, but I’d rather get a win and have the three points than anything. We need to get ourselves on a run here again. I think we’re playing decent. We need to finish off games and be a little more ruthless, if you’re asking me.
On if he and coach Sigi Schmid had talked since he went public with his unhappiness about lack of playing time: We chatted a little. What I said wasn’t anything that he hadn’t heard. It’s out there. You guys asked, and that’s my opinion and what was going on. I’m not going to beat around the bush about it, so he understands that. We’re upfront with each other.
On his getting more playing time since: I don’t know if he had much of a choice though, because Kennedy got hurt and I’m the only guy right there. I think it was just kind of fortunate, and he’s probably just shaking his head a little bit.
On the defense playing well, before and since: It’s the whole team. It’s not just putting one player in the lineup, no matter who it is. Before that we had been doing well. It’s still something that I’d rather win, and it’s important that we get the results. If I get out there and there’s no goals, that’s great.
