With Montreal's new Stade Saputo apparently going down to the wire before its public debut tomorrow, both the Impact and Sounders trained today at Complexe sportif Claude-Robillard. (That's where the USL Impact played.)
However, after training, the club drove over to Stade Saputo -- about 15 minutes away -- just to look around and walk on the grass just enough to figure out what boots to wear in the game tomorrow.
"It’s just important I think every time you play in a new place for the players to be able to see what it looks like, get a feel for what it feels like a little bit by walking on there," coach Sigi Schmid said. "Some guys like to visualize, so if you can visualize what the stadium looks like, that helps you in that process of preparing for a game. Mainly, just get an idea of how it feels and the sightlines, etc."
