Former Sounders midfielder Lamar Neagle of Federal Way had said before tonight's game that he dreamed of scoring against his former team.
He ended up scoring the final goal of Montreal's 4-1 win over the Sounders tonight.
So I asked if it lived up to those dreams.
"Absolutely," he said. "Finally getting my first goal of the season as well. It’s been a long time coming. To get it in this manner is unbelievable. It’s nice, especially like the fourth one. Everything’s going well, and we’re going forward. I knew they were down a man, I just came on, and I knew they were going to be tired. I was trying to keep going at them. I got a little lucky, but I’ll take that one for sure."
Never miss a local story.
On Montreal's happy locker room: This is definitely the way we wanted to start this part of the season. Going into this with the new stadium, it’s going to be great.
On the quality of the pitch for the first game: It wasn’t that bad. We thought it might be a little different, but I thought we played well.
