The Sounders have wrapped up training for their friendly tomorrow with Chelsea FC.
I'll have more later, but here are some takeaways:
Adrian Hanauer and Sigi Schmid both dismissed the Alvaro Fernandez transfer rumors as, well, rumors ... without quite saying it won't happen.
Schmid implied Steve Zakuani could get some playing time against Chelsea tomorrow, but seems less certain about Michael Gspurning.
Never miss a local story.
Everyone was grateful for the on- and off-pitch contributions of Roger Levesque, who will retire after tomorrow's friendly.
Hanauer said the club's current policy of one major friendly per season will be revisited tomorrow and after the season. He indicated no particular disappointment at the crowd of 55,000 or so expected tomorrow night.
Schmid complimented Osvaldo Alonso and Eddie Johnson on being named to the All-Star team and said he thinks the club deserves more than two All-Stars. When pressed for who else, he mentioned a central defender, Fredy Montero, Gspurning before the injury, and said Andy Rose at least deserves consideration for rookie of the year.
