Seattle Sounders FC forward Eddie Johnson has been voted Major League Soccer Player of the Week by the North American Soccer Reporters (NASR) for Week 22. Johnson scored the opening goal in a 4-0 victory over the LA Galaxy on Sunday night at CenturyLink Field, marking his fourth game-winning goal this season. It is the first time this season that Johnson has been voted MLS Player of the week. He is tied-fifth in MLS with 10 goals and has scored seven of the team's last 12 goals, including six goals in his last seven MLS games. The award is the fourth of Johnson's MLS career, having garnered the honor three times during the 2007 season with the Kansas City Wizards (now Sporting Kansas City). He is the second Seattle player to be voted MLS Player of the Week this season, after David Estrada in Week Two. The MLS Player of the Week is selected each week of the regular season by a panel of journalists from NASR. The group consists of members of print, television, radio and online media.
