Seattle beats visiting Vancouver, 2-0, on second-half goals from Fredy Montero and Eddie Johnson, their eighth and 11th of the season respectively.
A crowd of 55,718 watches.
Seattle moves to 11-6-7 and past the Whitecaps (10-9-7) in the MLS standings. Seattle also moves to 1-1-1 halfway through this Cascadia Cup competition. Portland is 1-0-1 and Vancouver 0-1-2.
Here was coach Sigi Schmid's overview of the match:
I’m happy with the 2-0 win. They’re a tough team. It was a tough game. It was a physical game, as well. But I thought our guys did well. I thought we had a good period of time in the first half when we dominated for a little bit. The start of the game was a little bit theirs; I thought the end of the first half was a little bit theirs. But then as the second half rolled on, I thought we got more opportunities. At the end of the day, I thought we got the clearer of the chances, and so we’re obviously pleased with the 2-0 win.
I'll be back with more notes and quotes in some new posts above.

There already is a bit of news, as the MLS Disciplinary Committee has suspended Whitecaps midfielder/DP Barry Robson from today's game for "aggravated dissent" against an assistant referee in stoppage time of Vancouver's 2-0 loss to FC Dallas on Wednesday.
