Caledonia and Marathon played to a scoreless draw in CONCACAF Champions League play last night. Those are the other two clubs in Group 4 along with the Sounders.
Coach Sigi Schmid said this morning that he was OK with the result, although the Sounders don't need to scoreboard-watch if they take care of their own business.
"Zero-zero is OK for us," Schmid said. "For us, the big thing is if we can win our next two games we can hopefully make the third game meaningless. That’s where we’re at right now. If we can win the next two, then there’s no way Marathon or Caledonia can catch us. So that’s our objective right now: Go down to Trinidad, get the points; and then hopefully go down to Honduras and get the points as well and put ourselves in a situation where that last game in the last week of the season becomes a game that doesn’t matter for us to advance."
