The Sounders have finished training at CenturyLink Field. Mauro Rosales and Osvaldo Alonso both were limited in their work.
Here are coach Sigi Schmid's explanations on each:
On Rosales: We just want to be careful with him right now. He was pretty crushed after the weekend in Dallas and feels a little bit of a tinge – nothing serious or bad in his quad yet. We just want to be cautious because we have a little bit of time now, and then we have a tough stretch again. Certainly he’s an important player for us, and sometimes in the past with him when he’s had a little thing and tried to push through it, it’s become a bigger thing. So we just want to be careful about that.
On Alonso: I held him out of the 11v11. I said he was going to do everything until the 11v11. He wanted to play, and I said, ‘No, it’s not a choice.’ He’s been cleared and everything. He’s been OK’d, but I just wanted to uptrain him a little bit: do a little bit more today and make sure there’s no setback going into tomorrow. But I expect him to be ready.
