During his postgame press conference this afternoon, coach Sigi Schmid was asked what he thought of the non-call on an apparent handball in the box by Chivas.
Schmid was in the process of saying he didn't get a good look at the play, when Sounders majority owner Joe Roth called out from the side of the room "How did you feel about the refereeing, Coach? And I'll pay the fine."
Schmid didn't really take the bait.
"As an old coach of mine used to say: 'You never say the guy's not a good referee or a bad referee, he just said, "I'm very unlucky with this referee." So, I'll just say, with Kevin Stott, I'm very unlucky with the calls."
Never miss a local story.
Schmid went on to say that the game almost got out of hand in the second half, and to imply that part of the reason was Stott not taking the actions to control it.
