The Sounders aren't training today, and no news from the club is expected.
However, here's a preview from the club, looking ahead to the Wednesday All-Star game and the Sounders return to action Saturday when FC Dallas visits:
Riding a record eight-game home unbeaten streak, Seattle Sounders FC concludes its three-game home stand on Saturday night against FC Dallas. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. PT on the Xbox Pitch at CenturyLink Field. Saturday's match will be broadcast on KING 5 with Ross Fletcher and Kasey Keller calling the action, and can also be heard on KIRO Radio 97.3 FM. Spanish radio is available on La Gran D 99.3 FM.
Seattle defender DeAndre Yedlin and the MLS All-Stars will compete against AS Roma in the 2013 AT&T MLS All-Star game on Wednesday. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. PT at Sporting Park in Kansas City, Kansas, and will be televised live on ESPN2, UniMas, TSN and RDS.
Never miss a local story.
Sounders FC (8-7-4, 28 points) continued to climb back into the playoff picture with a 2-1 home win over Chivas USA on Sunday night, marking the first victory of the season when allowing the first goal. Seattle sits seventh in the Western Conference standings, nine points from first-place Real Salt Lake.
The recent run of form at home has matched the best in club history, going unbeaten over the past eight outings (5-0-3). Sounders FC could set the new club mark with a win or draw on Saturday against FC Dallas.
Seattle will benefit from some reinforcements for Saturday's match, highlighted by the return of U.S. National Team striker Eddie Johnson, who netted two goals and one assist as the Americans won the Gold Cup last Sunday. Broadcast analyst Kasey Keller will also return after serving as the team's goalkeeper coach during the knockout rounds.
Saturday will mark the first August match of the season for Sounders FC. With just one loss in the last 11 August outings (8-1-2), Seattle will look to take advantage of a busy schedule with five games over the next month.
FC Dallas (8-5-8, 32 points) visits Seattle for the second time this season, falling 4-2 on May 18. Dallas started the 2013 campaign as the hottest team in MLS, winning six of its first eight matches, but a dip in form has the Texas club sitting sixth in the West with just one win in the past 10 games. The season series concludes on October 19 in Frisco, Texas.
Following Saturday's match, Sounders FC will hit the road for three of the next four matches, starting with a trip to Toronto next Saturday. Seattle will then visit the Houston Dynamo's BBVA Compass Stadium for the first time, and will conclude the month with a visit to the Columbus Crew on August 31.
Seattle hosts the Portland Timbers in the next home match on Sunday, August 25. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. PT on the Xbox Pitch at CenturyLink Field with national television coverage on ESPN2.
Single-match tickets to Sounders FC home matches are available through SoundersFC.com, all Ticketmaster Outlets, the CenturyLink Field Box Office or by calling 800-745-3000.
