Here is some reaction from the Sounders after their 2-1 win over Toronto FC:
Sounders coach SIGI SCHMID What did you think of Clint Dempsey? I think Clint did well. Obviously he hasn’t played in a game in two and half a weeks or so, so once you get your rhythm back it will make a big difference. His understanding of our players and our guys is something that will grow as well. We ended up having to bring him in a little sooner than expected but I was happy with him.
Considering he only had a couple training sessions with the team how do you think he did with the group? I thought he did alright and I think it’s going to get better.
Is the number one goalkeeper position up for grabs? No, we just think that Marcus (Hahnemann) has had two full weeks of training and Michael (Gspurning) has really only had one week of training and we felt that Marcus did alright last week so we wanted to come with him again and we wanted Michael to get another week of training in.
It was really good for us to control the game, it was very good to get an early goal. Also because the weather was hot in that moment, they are a young team and applied much pressure so it was very tough to play against them and at that moment to get some space, after that to score was one of the reasons why we could get the advantage of the game. We were very happy to get three points here, away against a good team.
