Mauro Rosales, who played the previous three seasons in Seattle, played 85 minutes for Chivas tonight.
“I thought Leo (Gonzalez) did a good job on him,” coach Sigi Schmid said. “… I felt for the most part we kept Mauro pretty quite. I didn’t think he was too involved in what they were doing offensively.”
The game also marked a return to action by Seattle midfielder Brad Evans, who subbed on the 67th minute after missing the four previous matches with a calf injury.
“People don’t understand it: ‘Oh you played 15-20 minutes,’” Evans said. “But that’s the hardest 20 minutes of the game right there when you’re trying to push both ways. So for me, it’s about getting fitness now: game fit.”
