South Sound FC kicked off the night with a plaque presentation from the President of the league to the South Sound side for being a founding club member in the EPLWA 2014 and recognized the clubs hard work that went into building the league. South Sound brought Head Coach Adam Becker, Team Captain Micah Wenzel and original club member and goalkeeper for South Sound Chris Kintz to receive the plaque. Owner John Crouch recognized the hard work that is gone into the program by all to get to the EPLWA and how excited the group is to be a part of the EPLWA inaugural Season. It was a cloudy night and the rain held off until midway through the second half. South Sound dominated possession throughout the game and had a lot of chances but didn't break the scoring open until the 62' when a ball was played across the field to veteran Daniel Gray who slotted Adrian "Pico" Rubio in to a dangerous area. Pico made a move to free himself from the defender and rocketed a shot to score South Sound's first ever home goal in the EPLWA.
South Sound had a number of opportunities both from corners and on crosses into the box, but would capitalize on a corner kick from Daniel Gray when Scotty Hanson headed the ball away to bring the score to 2-0 in the 75th minute.
Wenatchee United would quickly answer in the 77th minute with a pass into the chest of Christian Nyanfore from Andy Garcia that found Nyanfore past the defenders where he would volley a shot into the net.
