SUMNER, Wash. – United States U-21 National Team forward, Jordan Morris will join the Sounders U-23 this weekend for his first PDL action of the year. The Sounders U-23 travel to Bremerton to take on the Kitsap Pumas on Friday night before a home match on Sunday against the Portland Timbers U-23 in Tumwater.
Morris will be active for both matches following his return from Stanford University, and is assured to see action on Sunday.
The Sounders U-23 signed Morris, one of the brightest young players in the country, this offseason. Morris just finished his freshman year at Stanford University and holds caps for the United States U-20 and U-21 National Teams.
Jordan Morris burst on to the national soccer awareness after scoring 27 goals in 28 matches for the Sounders Academy and being named the U-17/18 US Soccer Development Academy Player of the Year in 2013.
Sounders U-23 GM and Head Coach, Darren Sawatzky said, “Jordan Morris is an exciting young player and he seems to excel at every level he gets the opportunity to play at. The U-23 team is a great place for him to continue his rise in the game during the summer months.”
Morris then went on to make 1st Team All-Pac 12 as a freshman and earn call-ups to the United States youth national team.
His ability, technique, and vision, mixed with his 5’11, 185 pound frame, make Morris a truly unique prospect with professional soccer on his horizon.

The Seattle native scored six goals last fall for Stanford and led all freshmen in the Pac-12 with seven assists.The Sounders U-23 take on the Kitsap Pumas on Friday at 7:30pm from Gordon Park Field. The Pumas are currently in 1st place in the division with 15pts from seven matches. On Sunday, at 2pm, the Sounders U-23 renew their rivalry with the Portland Timbers U-23.
