The Sounders are training this morning at CenturyLink Field -- usual turf surface, no tarps in the stands.
We should have some notes and quotes once they come off the pick. In the meanwhile, here's something coach Sigi Schmid said on Tuesday about the Sounders' training sessions leading to their 1 p.m. Saturday friendly against Tottenham:
"I’m a little more relaxed -- still happy that we beat Portland," he said. "But we still need to do work. (Tuesday) we worked hard with the guys who didn’t play a lot of minutes over the last two games, so they had a really tough workout. We’ll prepare for Tottenham like we would prepare for an MLS game. We want to keep our team in the rhythm is the most important thing. It’s not a situation where we’re going to say, ‘OK, let’s have everybody play 45 minutes on Saturday,’ or something like that. That’s not our attitude at all. We want to keep our team in a rhythm because we don’t play LA until a week from Monday, so that would be a long time between serious game minutes for those guys. So we expect our starters to play on Saturday."
