Here is coach Sigi Schmid's opening statement after the Sounders' 3-0 loss to the Galaxy:
"I thought the Galaxy were better than us tonight. We lost to a better team. I didn’t think we did a whole lot of things well tonight. It was a bad game for us. Our passing was poor. We didn’t get tight enough to people. There were a number of things that didn’t work. It was just one of those days at the office: better to forget about and move on."
On if he sensed such a game coming: "You never know. It’s just one of those things. We didn’t connect passes early in the game. They put a lot of pressure on us. We lost a little confidence in our passing I think early, playing out of the back. We lost confidence in that, now we’re lumping up 50-50 balls. We lost a majority of the duels in the game. And as a result of that they had more. Today they were better."
