Seattle Reign FC midfielder Kim Little was voted the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) Player of the Month by the media for the month of June of the 2015 NWSL season.
Little, 25, has helped Reign FC earn a 3-0-0 record in June to move into the number two spot in the standings with a 5-2-2 (17 pts.) overall record going into Week 12 of the 2015 campaign. Reign FC also has a six-match unbeaten streak, extending its home unbeaten run to 18 matches.
The Aberdeen, Scotland native registered three goals and one assist in June. Little’s first goal came on a penalty against Sky Blue FC on June 21 in a 3-0 win for Seattle.
The Arsenal Ladies alum recorded her second goal and first assist of June during Week 10 against the Boston Breakers, with a crucial assist to teammate Jessica Fishlock who would score the final goal of the match, giving Reign FC a 3-2 win on the road.
On June 27, Little scored her third goal of the month in a 2-1 win over FC Kansas City, settling a pass from forward Dani Foxhoven with her chest before firing a shot past Nicole Barnhart and into the back of the net.
In 2014, Little became the first player in NWSL history to earn the award on multiple occasions, as well as in back-to-back months when she was named Player of the Month for April, May and July. She is the only player from Reign FC to be named NWSL Player of the Month. This is her first NWSL Player of the Month award in 2015.
Seattle Reign FC returns to action Friday, July 3 at 4:00 p.m. PT against Western New York Flash at Sahlen’s Stadium in Rochester, N.Y. Fans can tune into the match by downloading the official, free Reign FC app here to watch live via YouTube on your iPhone.
