On the U.S. Women's World Cup championship yesterday: I thought it was a great result for our women’s team. They saved the best for last. They played stronger and stronger as the tournament went on. Any time you can get a 3-0 lead in 15 minutes, that sort of relaxes you a little bit and you can enjoy the game a little bit. It was a great accomplishment for them.
On the U.S. men heading into CONCACAF Gold Cup tomorrow: Obviously our team and Mexico are probably the two favorites.
I know this Gold Cup is important to qualify for the Confederations Cup. I think our chances are good. (Coach Jurgen Klinsmann) brought a strong team; Mexico brought a strong team as well. The competition begins. Honduras is a difficult opponent because physically they’ve got some good strength and size, but I think the U.S. is capable of winning for sure.
