Here’s a preview from the club:
The Sounders U23 team face the Kitsap Pumas for the third time this season on Friday, June 17th at Sunset Stadium in Sumner, Washington. Kitsap has been the winner on the previous two occasions by the same score at 1-0. The team will turn around and play the Victoria Highlanders on Sunday, June 19th in a two game weekend.
The Kitsap Pumas come into the game Friday with a PDL Northwest Division record of 2-3-2. The Pumas are currently in 7th place but one win in the tough Northwest Division will vault them up the standings. Mike Ramos leads the Pumas with 3 goals on the season and Jesus Sanchez pulls the strings for the Pumas midfield and has contributed a goal and an assist. The Pumas play Sounders FC on Wednesday, June 15th in the US Open Cup so the Pumas will see a lot of green this week.
The Victoria Highlanders come into Sunday’s game in the middle of the tight division table. They own a current record of 2-2-3 but play Crossfire on Friday night before coming to play the Sounders U23 on Sunday. Ryan Dillon and Chris Rushworth lead the team with 3 goals each on the campaign, and 34 year old Blair Sturrock defies age contributing 1 goal and 2 assists on the year.
Never miss a local story.
