  • Two protesters chain themselves to giant crane at LNG plant site

Two protesters scaled a fence, chained themselves to a crane and unfurled a banner Monday at the site of a liquefied natural gas storage facility under construction at the Port of Tacoma. Outside the gates a group of protesters largely comprising Puyallup Tribal members and local residents said they are trying to halt construction of the Puget Sound Energy facility, which they believe will pose a danger to the region.
