Minnesota makes it to 1st WNBA finals
PHOENIX – After helping the Minnesota Lynx reach the WNBA finals for the first time in franchise history, Taj McWilliams-Franklin came up with an analogy to describe the feeling.
Candice Dupree’s putback with 1.9 seconds remaining lifted Phoenix to a 77-75 victory over the Seattle Storm in Game 3 at KeyArena on Monday night, sending the Mercury to the WNBA’s Western Conference finals.
When the Phoenix Mercury gets its fastbreak offense going, they can be unbeatable, even against a team that has dominated them for three seasons.
On a night when their head coach and rookie teammate collected league honors, Lindsay Whalen and Seimone Augustus showed why the Minnesota Lynx might not be done accepting trophies this year.
