Seattle Storm first-year coach and director of player personnel Brian Agler has spent much of the last two weeks talking about how training camp is so competitive.

That proved to be true Thursday, when the Storm cut its top draft choice – DePaul University guard Allie Quigley, who was the No. 22 pick last month – and free agent forward Natalie Doma.

Seattle now has 15 players on its roster. After returning backup guard Tanisha Wright joined camp Thursday, the Storm is only missing two players – All-Stars Lauren Jackson and Sue Bird, who are playing for the same team in Russia, and will arrive in Seattle on May 14 at the latest.

Though Quigley started out camp playing well, she shot 0-of-6 in 19 minutes in the Storm’s first preseason game in Chicago on April 30, and didn’t play in Sacramento two nights later. Doma, out of Idaho State, was not drafted. She was 1-of-5 in 11 minutes in Chicago and didn’t play against the Monarchs.
