Hass is back
After two weeks on the shelf, quarterback Matt Hasselbeck fought through the pain of a fractured rib to complete 18 of 30 attempts for 241 yards, four touchdowns and no interceptions for a 125.1 passer rating.
Big stop
Instead of going for a field goal to tie the game in the first quarter, Jacksonville went for it on fourth-and-1 from the Hawks' 2. The secondary covered beautifully, and pressure forced David Garrard to throw the ball away in a hugely important early momentum swing.
Defensive Ends
Neither Darryl Tapp nor Lawrence Jackson were in the starting lineup as defensive ends at the start of the season, but the two had strong games with both getting a sack and sharing six quarterback hits. And don't forget rookie Nick Reed's fumble return for a TD.
Helmet Head
Open to interpretation and debate, but many of the Seahawks claimed to be inspired when fullback Owen Schmitt ran onto the field bashing his helmet into his forehead during pregame introduction of the starting lineup. He was a bloody mess.
Schemes
A good move by offensive coordinator Greg Knapp was going to the no-huddle in the first half to crank up the tempo. The defense, meanwhile, returned to basics and loaded up against the run to hold the Jaguars to 38 rushing yards.
Line fill-ins
When third-team left tackle Brandon Frye went down with a stinger, replacement Kyle Williams had to play through a knee sprain because there were no other options. Center Steve Vallos also was called into duty at left guard when Mansfield Wrotto went out.
