Isiah Thomas fired back at Magic Johnson for excerpts in a soon-to-be-released book that discusses everything from the reason for Thomas’ omission from the 1992 Olympic Dream Team (“Nobody on that team wanted to play with him,” Johnson says in the book) to an accusation that blamed Thomas for spreading rumors that Johnson was gay or bisexual after he was diagnosed with HIV in 1991.
“I’m really hurt,” Thomas, now the coach at Florida International University, told SI.com. “I really feel taken advantage of for all these years. I’m totally blindsided by this.”
The book, “When The Game Was Ours,” was co-written by Johnson along with Larry Bird and longtime NBA writer Jackie MacMullan.
Aldridge signs extension
The Portland Trail Blazers signed forward LaMarcus Aldridge to a five-year contract extension. Terms of the deal were not announced.
Aldridge was key to a young Blazers team that won 54 games and went to the playoffs last season. He averaged 18.1 points and 7.5 rebounds.
The Blazers also waived forward Ime Udoka and center Jarron Collins and kept draft pick Patty Mills.

The Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma owns the track in Sallisaw.
