Gallery: Shades of autumn in South Sound

“We’re making leaf bombs!” said Trixie Witham, 9, as she tossed an armful of autumnal remnants into the air. Along with her sister Naomi, 6, and friend Lanea Martinez, 7, left, the girls made the most of leaves under their neighbor’s tree in Puyallup last week. The color brightened scenes all around the South Sound last week. The leaves will probably lose their crunch today, as rain is expected to return.
