The Governor’s Mansion will be open for trick-or-treating children from 6 to 8 p.m. Oct. 31, and Gov. Chris Gregoire will dress up this year as Jessie, a yodeling cowgirl from the film “Toy Story 2.”
Gregoire’s husband, Mike, will dress as Woody the cowboy from the same movie franchise. The mansion is on the Capitol Campus.
Children who show up will receive a chocolate bar, and five of the bars carry a “golden ticket” that allows the child and four guests to visit the mansion again Dec. 4 for a holiday reception and tour led by the governor’s dog, Trooper.
The mansion will be decorated and open for public holiday tours Dec. 9-10 and Dec. 16-17, according to Gregoire’s office. Reservations are required; call 360-902-8880.
The state’s first couple has dressed up in the past as Dora the Explorer and characters from “Charlotte’s Web,” “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory” and “Happy Feet.”
