Kitsap County Sheriff’s deputies are investigating a single car, double-fatality crash that occurred during the early morning hours on Sunday.
The accident happened on National Avenue South at McCall Boulevard West, in the Navy Yard City area of Bremerton, just north of Highway 304 at about 12:51 a.m. Sunday morning.
Two female passengers were both declared dead at the scene. The driver, a 24-year-old man, was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. His injuries are not considered life-threatening. His identity has not yet been released.
The deceased have been identified as 28-year-old Laresa Ann Davis, who was in the front seat, and 27-year-old Nina Terumi Martinez Gonzalez, who was in the rear seat. Both women are from Bremerton.
According to investigators, the 2004 Dodge Stratus was traveling southbound on National Avenue South and left the roadway at McCall Boulevard West. The car went airborne and came down into a ravine, where it struck a dirt embankment.
It is unknown at this time if alcohol or drugs were involved in the crash.
