Avalanches, mudslides close all three mountain passes

State transportation officials have closed all three highways across the Cascade Mountains this morning because of avalanches and mudslides.
Drivers are warned to expect travel delays, road closures and winter weather driving conditions.
U.S. 12 White Pass was recently closed because of a large mudslide. The highway is closed between milepost 86 and milepost 92.Transportation officials shut down Interstate 90 from North Bend to Ellensburg overnight after an avalanche on Snoqualmie Pass. Crews have not estimated when the highway will be reopened.U.S. 2 over Stevens Pass is closed between Scenic and Leavenworth after several avalanches Tuesday. Transportation officials have not estimated when the pass will reopen.Highway 20 near Newhalem also was closed because of avalanches, transportation officials reported.U.S. 97 at Blewitt Pass was closed from the Big Y junction to the Lauderdale junction because of heavy snow and mudslides.
