Events for the week ahead: Proctor ArtsFest, Kite Festival at Chambers Bay, outdoor movies and more happenings

Lady Gaga World Tour at Tacoma Dome

Since she hit the national music scene, Lady Gaga has sold 27 million albums and 145 million singles, and headlined this year’s Super Bowl Halftime Show. Her Joanne World Tour will come to the Tacoma Dome on Saturday for a 7:30 p.m. concert. Tickets start at $114 and are available through Ticketmaster.

Local art celebrated at festival

The Proctor Arts Fest, one of Tacoma’s oldest community street fairs, will take over the Proctor Business District at North 26th and Proctor streets on Saturday. It will have three stages of entertainment, sidewalk sales, kids and family activities, a farmers market and a juried art show. More than 100 vendors and local artists will sell their works from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Admission is free.

Sky full of color and movement at kite festival

You’ll be able to try your hand at flying a kite or take in kite demonstrations by more experienced fliers Saturday at the annual Kite Festival at the central meadow at Chambers Bay, 9850 64th St. W. in University Place. The first 250 kids coming will be able to make their own kites. Hours are 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Admission is free.

Friday (Aug. 4)

Joe Rogan brings comedy to the Paramount

Joe Rogan has appeared in the TV sitcoms “Hardball” and “NewsRadio,” along with hosting “Fear Factor” and “The Man Show.” His stand-up comedy includes political satire, blue comedy and observational laughs. He will appear Friday (Aug. 4) at the Paramount Theatre, 911 Pine St., Seattle, for a 7:30 p.m. show. Tickets are $35.60-$62 and are available at stgpresents.org.

Festival in small town Orting goes big

The theme of this year’s Orting SummerFest will be “Small Town, Big Fun.” The festival will take over downtown Orting with food, entertainment, vendors and kid activities, including an obstacle course, a super slide, bounce houses and train rides. Movies under the stars

As summer rolls on, it’s time for community outdoor movies. Here are movie series in the Tacoma area:

Summer Bash & Movies at the Park will feature Click Mobile Movies, which offer family activities before each movie. All movies are free. Friday: “Moana” at Stewart Heights Park, 402 E. 56th St, Tacoma, Activities will start at 5 p.m.; movie at dusk. Aug. 11: “Kubo and the Two Strings” at The Center at Norpoint, 4818 Nassau Ave. NE, Tacoma. Activities will start at 6 p.m.; movie at dusk. Aug. 19: “Sing” at the STAR Center, 3873 S. 66th St., Tacoma. Activities will start at 5 p.m.; movie at dusk.

Movies Off Main will come to Heritage Park, 914 Kincaid Ave., Sumner every Friday. Snacks are available for sale. All movies are free. Friday: “RV.” Aug. 11: “American Graffiti.” Aug. 18: “The Secret Life of Pets.” Aug. 25: “Up.”

Drive-In Movies at ACM will show movies on the 40-foot outdoor screen at LeMay — America’s Car Museum, 2702 E. D St., Tacoma. Parking will open at 4:30 p.m.; movie at dusk. All movies are free. Jets, planes and cars at Museum of Flight

You’ll be able to get a closer look at the participants in SeaFair’s air show at the Jet Blast Bash at the Museum of Flight, 9404 E. Marginal Way S., Seattle. There will be World War II planes, classic cars, food and entertainment with the closest seats to the ceremony and thunder of the Blue Angels’ takeoffs and landings. Hours are 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. The festival is free with paid admission to the Museum of Flight. More information is available at museumofflight.org.

Tuesday

Against All Odds Tour at WaMu Theater

Rap and hip-hop artists Meek Mill and Yo Gotti have teamed up for the “Against All Odds Tour.” Meek is supporting his album, “DC4,” and Gotti is supporting his albums, “White Friday” and “The Art of Hustle. The tour will wrap up Tuesday in Seattle at the WaMu Theater, 800 Occidental Ave. S. in Seattle with an 8 p.m. concert. Tickets are $52 and available through Ticketmaster.
