Dolls and teddy bears take over Washington State Fair Events Center
There doesn’t need to be an age limit to enjoy dolls and teddy bears. If you are a fan, head out to the Crossroads Doll and Teddy Bear Show at the Washington State Fair Events Center, 110 Ninth Ave. SE, Puyallup. Collectors and the curious will find antiques, miniatures, doll-making supplies, and furniture, plus the main attraction - dolls and teddy bears from antique to modern and some acclaimed artists. It’s the final day with hours of 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Admission is $7 adults; $4 children younger than 12 and children are free on Sunday.

It’s an all-ages urban scavenger hunt that takes participants to landmarks throughout Tacoma. Concerts and comedy come to Northwest venues for summer series
It’s summer concert season with big-name acts coming to the area. Here are a few happening today:
• As part of the ZooTunes concert series at Woodland Park Zoo, 601 N. 59th St., Seattle, Mavis Staples and Marc Cohn will be playing in a 6 p.m. concert Sunday. Mavis Staples, having started her career in 1950 with her family, The Staple Singer, has continued her career in R&B over the past 50 plus years. • Country legend Merle Haggard will be joined with Emmylou Harris for a 7 p.m. concert at Chateau Ste. Michelle, 14111 NE 145th St., Woodinville. Tickets are $49.50-$85 and are available through Ticketmaster.
• Take in the comedy of Joan Rivers when she comes to Snoqualmie Casino, 37500 SE North Bend Way, Snoqualmie. Tickets for her 7 p.m. performance are $35-$65 and you can get yours through Ticketmaster.
Join in work party and learn basics of summer pruning
Join in the Orchard Work and Learn Party at Hilltop House Orchard, South 19th Street and South Yakima Avenue, Tacoma. Learn basic summer pruning with a local arborist, and help out a local nonprofit. Italian style dinner supports local Lutheran volunteer group
Help support the Lutheran Volunteer Corp at an Italian style evening meal, “Oodles of Noodles” from 5-7 p.m. Sunday. It’s being held at Peace Lutheran Church, 2105 S. Cushman Ave., Tacoma. The event will include a cake walk, live music, and trivia with prizes. Lutheran Volunteer Corp is a nonprofit organization that connects full-time volunteers with organizations that work for peace and justice in 12 cities across the U.S. including Tacoma and Seattle.
