It looks sunny for Gray Skies music festival

Teddy Lee Hooker, a veteran of the Gray Sky Blues Music Festival, returns this year to headline the eighth iteration of the all-day multi-venue event on Saturday.

The festival follows the annual Daffodil Festival Grand Floral Parade.

The mostly free, all-ages event features acts at The Harmon Brewery & Restaurant, The Swiss Restaurant & Pub and at an after-festival party at B Sharp Coffee House. A cover charge is added for the headliner acts and for the after-party.

Ted Grimes took the stage name Teddy Lee Hooker as an homage to his mentor and brother-in-law John Lee Hooker in 2000. At age 5, Teddy was given his first guitar by John Lee Hooker who was at the time married to Teddy’s older sister, Freda.

In 2005, Teddy Lee Hooker was awarded Best Blues Artist of the Year by South Bay Music Awards. In 2007, he made it to the finals at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis, Tennessee.

South Sound Blues Association’s Back to Beale Street 2015 winner, The CD Woodbury Band, will open for Teddy Lee Hooker. Longtime Pacific Northwest bluesmen Little Bill and the Blue Notes, and Jerry Miller will play at Harmon Brewery.

The after party will feature the Dean Reichert Band along with Teddy Lee Hooker and Maia Santell.
