Here’s the best food and the best ride at the WA State Fair, according to our readers

We wanted to find the best food and the best carnival ride at the Washington State Fair.

Would the Extreme Scream be an obvious favorite? Are the caramel apples a must?

The results of our unscientific poll told us, above all, that our readers are chickens.

Best food at the Puyallup fair

Not one of you voted for the cheddar cheese ice cream, which tells us you weren’t brave enough to try it.

The winner, with 20 votes (29 percent), was Fisher scones. That makes sense, since you also voted those buttery, raspberry pastries as the best part of the fair, period.

Earthquake burgers came in second, with 11 votes (16 percent). Krusty pups took third, with 10 (14 percent).

Scones, giant burgers, and hand-battered corn dogs were probably a given for the top three.

Piroshky surprised us with seven votes (10 percent) to take fourth.

Best ride at the Puyallup fair

Only two of you voted for the Extreme Scream, and just one of you voted for the fair’s new ride, Revolution 360. That makes us think most of your were too scared to try it.

The Classic Coaster took first place with 12 votes (38 percent). The iconic wooden roller coaster was built in 1935 and rebuilt in 2009.

The swings and Wildcat roller coaster tied for second with four votes (13 percent).
