Tom Hardy Fired From Paramount+'s 'MobLand' After Major Behind-the-Scenes Drama

According to multiple reliable outlets, Tom Hardy has officially been fired from Paramount+'s ongoing crime drama series, MobLand, following reported clashes between himself and several cast and crew.

As per Variety, the 48-year-old Hardy apparently caused some friction between himself and various behind-the-scenes personnel attached to MobLand, including series executive producer Jez Butterworth, the staff at 101 Studios and others.

Set against the backdrop of London's criminal underworld, MobLand's first two seasons followed Hardy's fixer Harry Da Souza as he works to keep the peace between influential two crime families on the brink of all-out war.

Starring Hardy, Pierce Brosnan, Helen Mirren and Paddy Considine, MobLand proved to be an incredibly popular series among its debut to Paramount+, earning rave reviews from fans and critics alike.

While a third season of the show has yet to be confirmed, the series' high viewership almost guarantees MobLand will continue in some fashion. As to how the series will handle the sudden departure of Hardy, only time will tell.

According to TV Insider, Hardy reportedly caused several production issues when it came to MobLand's second season, such as arriving let to set, inserting unscripted dialogue changes and offering script updates.

As per the outlet, Hardy was also apparently unhappy working as part of an ensemble cast. For these reasons, producer Jez Butterworth threatened to leave the series if the studio didn't intervene.

Following its renewal in summer 2025, MobLand's second season is slated to premiere later this fall. In a conversation with The Hollywood Reporter, Hardy teased the show's new season, "There are international elements to organized crime which are touched on in Season 1 and the control of drugs and ammunition and weapons and people and all kinds of things that go through Europe and from Africa through to South America, Pakistan and the variable commodities that move around Europe."
