Warhammer 40K: Darktide

Revealed during yesterday's Warhammer Skulls Showcase, the Skitarii Alpha Primus playable class will become available in Warhammer 40K: Darktide on June 23.

According to Fatshark, they've always wanted to bring the Adeptus Mechanicus into the game, so they are treating this as a milestone for them and for the fans. The Skitarii were chosen for their possible chemistry with the rest of the warband of Darktide, as the more popular Tech-Priest don't usually operate on a strike team unit. The Skitarii are a better fit as they are the frontliners of the Adeptus Mechanicus, after all.

In-game, the players' success in helping out the Tech-Priest Hadron Omega-7-7 finding Tech-Remnants led to several Forge Worlds deploying their forces to aid the battle for Tertium. Hadron has now been given the whereabouts of an old Adeptus Mechanicus facility that can upgrade a Skitarii Veteran into the more elite Alpha Primus variant, hence the class now joining the Darktide roster.

Warhammer 40K: Darktide Skitarii pack comes in both the base DLC and a deluxe edition, which instantly unlocks a Deluxe Class Outfit, Unique Deluxe Servo Skull Skin, 6 Deluxe Weapon Skins, and a Deluxe Portrait Frame. Both DLCs go on sale on June 23.
