Final home series for the Tacoma Rainiers

It’s the final home series of games for the Tacoma Rainiers this week. Make plans to take in a game and celebrate the season. Games scheduled this week:

▪ Memphis Redbirds, 7:05 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday.

▪ Nashville Sounds, 7:05 p.m. Thursday-Saturday and 1:35 p.m. Sunday.

American Idol Live comes to McCaw Hall in Seattle

As “American Idol” winds down, there is still time to take in the latest tour of American Idol Live featuring the top performers from the past season. It will feature winner Nick Fradiani, as well as Rayvon Owen, Jax and Tyanna Jones. The 7:30 p.m. show Tuesday is at McCaw Hall, 321 Mercer St., Seattle. Tickets are $49-$63.50 and are available through Ticketmaster.

History talk about World War II fighter pilots

Join Retired Air Force pilot and historian Lee Corbin for his talk, “World War II and the Prelude to the Pacific Theater.” He will share the story of Robert M. Short, the first American pilot shot down in combat in the Pacific Theater of WWII while flying an armed test plane to China in 1932. Free class on consumer safety at Gig Harbor Library

Learn how to protect yourself from identity theft and scams, stay safe in social media and email, and find reviews before making big purchases or hiring local services at a free workshop, “Consumer Safety.” It is from 2-4 p.m. Tuesday at the Gig Harbor Library, 4424 Point Fosdick Drive NW, Gig Harbor.
