Art quilt exhibit at Gig Harbor Library
There’s still time to take in the Art Quilt Exhibit at the Gig Harbor Library, 4424 Point Fosdick Drive NW. The exhibit by STITCH, a local quilting group highlights how quilt making has become an art form, will be on display through early November for free during regular library hours. New exhibit at Catholic Community Services gallery
Take in the exhibit “Byzantine Iconography and Manuscript Images” at the Tahoma Gallery at Catholic Community Services, 1323 S. Yakima Ave., Tacoma. It features the works of Pamelia Pruitt-Colvin and Kathy McKee using the Ancient Byzantine egg tempera technique. The style is based on techniques taught by Russian masters. The exhibit will be on display through Dec. 30. Hours are 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday. For more information call 253-502-2617.
Improv sketch comedy in Kent
The Second City is known as a leading brand in improv-based sketch comedy. Its touring company is bringing “Holidazed & Confused” show to the Kent-Meridian Performing Arts Center, 10020 SE 256th St., Kent. “The Sound of Music” at 5th Avenue Theatre
