Tacoma Science Cafe join Kate Williams Ph.D. Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, at this month’s “Fingerprinting the Enemy: Our Body’s War on Germs.” Free and open to all ages, come hear how our body routinely protects us against infection with different germs, how this process relates to vaccination and why it has been so hard to make vaccines against some pathogens. 6:30 p.m. Tuesday. Join master tango instructor Luis Perez at the Backstreet Tango Absolute Beginners Class on Tuesday. The dance studio, 3505 S. 14th St., Tacoma, dedicates itself to teaching only authentic social Argentine tango. Learn the basic elements in this class at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday. If you’re looking for the next step, then try the Beginner Level II Class at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. Classes are also offered Wednesdays and Sundays plus practice dances.
