Beyoncé to perform at CenturyLink Field
In the second big concert announcement of the day, Beyoncé announced she will bring her new “The Formation” world tour to Seattle on May 18. She will perform at CenturyLink Field. It was announced earlier Monday that Bruce Springsteen is coming to KeyArena March 24.
The announcement of Beyoncé’s tour comes a day after her performance at halftime of Super Bowl 50, and a day after release of the single “Formation.”
Tickets for the Seattle show go on sale Feb. 22.
The tour kick offs April 27 in Miami and includes 21 other stadium shows.
Other West Coast shows include San Diego; Pasadena, California; and Santa Clara, California. The tour includes stops in London, Amsterdam and Stockholm.
This will be the 34-year-old Beyoncé’s first solo tour since her “Mrs. Carter Show” world tour in 2013. Spanning five continents in two years, that tour drew nearly 2 million fans. In 2014, the hip-hop artist toured with her husband, Jay Z.
She rose to fame in the 1990s as lead singer for the R&B group Destiny’s Child, which became one of the best-selling girl groups of all time. While the group was on hiatus, Beyoncé released her debut single album, “Dangerously in Love” in 2003. She earned five Grammy Awards for the album. She has sold 118 million records as a solo artist.
