Strawberry fest forever
Come out in support of the Children’s Theater Program with BK Musical Productions at the annual Strawberry Festival at the South Bay Grange, 3918 Sleater Kinney Road NE, Olympia. Start out the day with the Strawberry Short-K 5K run/walk at 9 a.m. Saturday. The festival is noon-6 p.m. With live entertainment, food and of course strawberries. Admission is free. Singer Maxwell at Emerald Queen

Great skate escape
Join in the fun at the annual Go Skate Tacoma Day with Alchemy Skateboarding, where skateboarding is king at Tollefson Plaza in downtown Tacoma. The family-friendly, citywide celebration will include large ramps, skate-able features, skate competitions, free lessons, open skate opportunities and children’s area with activities. Hours are 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday, and admission is free to the public. Donations will be accepted for Alchemy Skateboarding’s nonprofit youth education program.
