Keith Urban cancels Puyallup concert at state fair after father-in-law’s death

Country music star Keith Urban has canceled his concert at this year’s Washington State Fair, which was scheduled for Saturday (Sept. 13), after his father-in-law unexpectedly died Friday.

The concert was moved to the fair’s concert lineup next year, and ticket holders will be able to redeem their tickets at the Sept. 19, 2015, show.

News reports Friday said Antony Kidman, father to Hollywood actress Nicole Kidman, died after falling at a social club in Singapore.

“The fair sends its condolences to both Keith Urban and his wife, Nicole Kidman,” a fair news release stated.

Ticket holders for Urban’s 2014 concert have two options with their tickets. They can hold onto them to use for the rescheduled concert, or they can return them for a refund.

The concert tickets will still be valid for both fair gate and concert admission. Ticket holders are guaranteed the same seat they selected for this year’s concert.

To return the ticket for a refund, go to the point of purchase.

Transactions must be completed by emailing boxoffice@thefair.com by Oct. 31, or in person at the box office on Ninth Avenue Southwest and Meridian Street by the end of the fair Sept. 21.
