Vegan junk food pop-up returns to Tacoma today. It was a hit when it came through in June
Vuture Foods, known for its Nashville hot-style fried “chik’n” sandwiches and loaded In N Out-inspired fries, returns to Tacoma today.
The Los Angeles-based vegan pop-up concept first visited the city in June, setting up a tent outside Incline Cider House.
“The vegans came out in full force!!” said Incline co-owner and taproom manager Lesley Zehner Shields after the successful June 20 event.
The menu varies from stop to stop, but expect that crispy chik’n, plant-based nuggets and loaded fries.
Everything is nut-free and mostly gluten-free, but the business cautions that it fries in vegetable oil which contains soy.
Owner Dominique Villareal started serving vegan cheeseburgers in 2018, expanding to other comfort foods while touring the festival circuit across the U.S. Last year, he and his team began partnering directly with breweries and taprooms.
“Our goal is to hit as many U.S. cities as possible,” Villareal told The News Tribune ahead of his first Tacoma visit. “Our menu varies daily and is dependent on what ingredients we can source locally.”
They accept credit cards and exact change.
