Help wanted signs hang in the windows at Pita Pit and The Matador, two new eateries poised to open in the northern end of downtown Tacoma.
Another coming soon sign, of sorts, went up today: I saw publican Patrick Coyne placing a sign for his Seattle Irish pub in the window next to the Olympus Hotel on Pacific Ave., where his new Tacoma pub is under construction in a historic space. He told me last week he'll open in mid-to-late November.
Next week, The Matador will hoist its horny signage on the corner of Pacific and 7th, where it's building out its Tex-Mex restaurant and tequila bar. Expect a mid-October opening, I'm told.
As soon as I can wrangle up a designated driver (any volunteers?), I'll check out The Matador's Ballard and West Seattle locations and let you know whether $50 shots of Gran Centenario Anejo pair better with carne asada or Tex-Mex spring rolls.
