Masa Tacoma will have its first ever "Jefe De Jefe" Burrito Eating Contest. The six-pound burrito eating contest starts at 6 p.m. today at the Tacoma restaurant. Contestants who register by 5 p.m. can enter. They’ll have 10 minutes to eat as much of the burrito as they can. Whoever eats the most, which is tracked by the weight of the burrito, will win $500 (plus a gynormous stomach ache). More details are here.

Matt Colony, executive chef and general manager of Maxwell’s e-mailed me a menu he's put together for Cinco de Mayo. He said the restaurant won’t be hosting a party, but he’s got some interesting dishes planned that he developed with sous chef Jesus Boites. On the menu: “Homemade tamales, ceviche tostadas, pozole, taco plates, Mexican flan and a few drinks specials.”
The Loose Wheel Bar & Grill will have 75 cent tacos, $1 off taco salads and $1 off top shelf tequilas starting at 8 p.m. Also, they’ll offer $4 margaritas and Mexican beer discounts. More details here.
McNamara’s Pub in Dupont will put an Irish spin on the day. From the Irish restaurant’s Facebook page, “O'Cinco de Drinko!!! Food Specials, $2 Margaritas, $8 Shot & Pint special (Cuervo & Dos Equis).
