Engine House No. 9 has made it to the big 4-0. And it's never looked better. And I'm not just saying that because I want it to feel good about its aging self. Since X Group restaurants bought the brewpub in July 2011, the menu has been lightly tweaked for the better and head brewer Shane Johns has been brewing some interesting beers. A kriek Johns brewed this summer tapped out so quickly, I didn't even get a chance to write about it. To celebrate their 40th anniversary this weekend, they'll roll back some prices, revisit some old menu items and run a beer-by-the-pitcher special. Because today is National Drink Beer Day, you really should get down there and have some. Owner Jeff Paradise from X Group sent a note running down the specials all weekend:
