Tacoma’s Montamara Kitchen has extended its weekend brunch to include weekday breakfast service. Breakfast begins at 9 a.m. Tuesdays-Fridays, with lunch following on those days. Brunch and lunch service on Saturdays and Sundays starts at 8:30 a.m.

The menu has expanded significantly since the Old Town cafe’s opening. The menu lists five eggs Benedict dishes ($13-$17) with a choice of crab cakes, smoked salmon, traditional style with ham, country style with sausage gravy or California style with bacon, tomatoes and avocado. Danish pancakes ($11), huevos rancheros ($12), biscuits and gravy ($11) and a croque Madame ($14) fill in the menu, along with about a half-dozen other new dishes. Find the restaurant at 2208 N. 30th St., Tacoma; 253-314-5892; montamarakitchen.com.

And here’s another breakfast alert. Downtown Tacoma’s Pacific Grill will begin offering weekend brunch sometime after mid-February. Owner Gordon Naccarato said that Alex Anton, chef of Naccarato’s former Smoke + Cedar, will oversee brunch and the menu is in the works. Find the restaurant at 1502 Pacific Ave., Tacoma; 253-627-3535; pacificgrilltacoma.com.

And speaking of breakfast, I wrote about bar breakfasts a few weeks ago and there’s one more you should add to that list. Doyle’s Public House, a bar known for its European brew, soccer obsession and great sandwiches, offers weekend breakfast from 6 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays and weekdays beginning at 9 a.m. The menu lists chicken fried steak ($9.49); corned beef hash ($9.99); a spin on a Monte Cristo with egg-dipped Texas toast, gouda cheese, a fried egg and ham ($8.49); French toast with bacon ($8.99), and a few other dishes. Find the restaurant at 208 St. Helens Ave., Tacoma; 253-272-7468; doylespublichouse.com.
