Sharpen your get-hired skills or learn to chill (or both) through free library sessions

Job seekers, it's always good to refresh your meet-and-greet skills as well as learn coping strategies when you don't get the first opening you find.

The Pierce County Library System is offering a new round of Get Hired sessions at different libraries, run by library and WorkSource staff for tech and job search/interview-related questions.

The summer schedule for Get Hired:

July 20, 2-4 p.m., Key Center Pierce County Library, 8905 Key Peninsula Hwy N.W., Lakebay.

Aug. 22, 2-4 p.m., Parkland/Spanaway Pierce County Library, 13718 Pacific Ave. S.

Aug. 30, 2-4 p.m., Milton/Edgewood Pierce County Library, 900 Meridian E., suite 29, Milton.

Sept. 20, 2-4 p.m., Buckley Pierce County Library, 123 S. River Ave.

The program also tackles the mental side of job seeking. Because it's never a great day to receive a rejection letter, knowing how to take care of themselves and cope with stress are important for those looking for their next job.
