Against the Seahawks: This is the 29th regular-season meeting between the teams. The Cardinals lead the series, 15-13. The last time the teams met, the Seahawks won, 58-0, in Seattle on Dec. 9.

Stats and stuff: Former USC quarterback Carson Palmer is at the helm for the Cardinals. He won the Heisman Trophy while playing for Seahawks coach Pete Carroll with the Trojans. … The Cardinals’ strength is their rushing defense. They are fifth in the league in rushing yards allowed. The Seahawks are second in the league in rushing yards. … Arizona has veteran Rashard Mendenhall in the backfield, but he is getting a push from backup Andre Ellington, a rookie taken in the sixth round of this year’s draft out of Clemson. Ellington averages 7.0 yards per carry this season. He averages five carries per game. After zero carries in the opener, he is progressively having an impact. … Stalwart WR Larry Fitzgerald may be slowing down a bit after five consecutive years with more than 1,000 receiving yards. He’s averaging 67.5 receiving yards per game this season, his 10th, which projects to 1,080 yards in 16 games. He had six catches for 117 yards against the San Francisco 49ers, his first 100-yard receiving game this season. … Arizona linebacker Karlos Dansby has 57 combined tackles, 55 of them solo tackles, which ranks No. 1 in the NFL.

Quotable: “I don’t think there is a player at his position that is better than Larry.”
