Hero or Zero?
A look at a player who can influence Sunday’s NFC Championship Game between the Seahawks and the San Francisco 49ers:
Seattle aims for offensive balance. And from his safety position, Whitner can make an impact against the Seahawks’ running and passing games. He is San Francisco’s fourth-leading tackler and is second in passes defensed. Whitner was a hero last weekend at Carolina when his fourth-quarter interception basically clinched the 23-10 win over the Panthers. Still, anyone who makes his living in an NFL secondary recognizes how quickly you can morph from hero to zero.
